We’re a team of GPs specialising in lifestyle medicine, passionate about helping people achieve their best possible health and wellbeing. Our approach focuses on helping people to prevent, improve - and even reverse - long-term health conditions through practical, evidence-based lifestyle changes.
The Living Well Course began in 2021 as a programme for patients at high risk of disease. The results were powerful: participants experienced measurable improvements in their health, along with overwhelmingly positive feedback.
Seeing this impact, we set out to share the course more widely - so that more people and organisations can support their communities to live healthier, happier lives.
Today, we train individuals and teams across:
-
Health and social care
-
Voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations
-
Education
-
Corporate settings
Meet the team

Dr Jen West
I am a retired GP with over 40 years of experience in the NHS, with particular interests in palliative care and, more recently, long COVID. I was involved in running a local long COVID clinic, where I saw firsthand the powerful role lifestyle approaches can play in improving patients' quality of life. Since retiring, I have focused on lifestyle medicine - an area I believe is essential to the future of healthcare, yet still underrepresented in traditional medical training. Over the past 3 years, I have worked with the Living Well Course team to develop an evidence-based educational programme designed to support both patients and practitioners. I am passionate about sharing this work more widely and write a fortnightly newsletter on lifestyle medicine for a growing community of readers. Outside of this, I enjoy learning to play the cello, walking my dog, cooking, and spending time with my grandchildren, who keep me feeling young and curious.

Dr Richard Pile
I am a GP specialising in Lifestyle Medicine and Cardiology, TEDx speaker, health coach and author (Fit For Purpose, Harper Collins 2021). Previously an NHS clinical lead for Lifestyle Medicine & Prevention, I'm also the medical director of Thrive Tribe and co-founder of The Living Well Course. Outside of work I enjoy running, mountain biking, archery, obsessing over jazz, spending time with friends and family, and being taken to the pub by my dog,

Dr Nicola Phillips
